I've known two department managers, one assistant manager and two different store managers while working at Sobeys, and all have been good, honest hard-working individuals.
Management is fair and gets along well with the staff.

Through the job I've learned how to better communicate with strangers, solve their problems within a timely manner and how to effectively communicate with a team. Such duties involve collecting shopping carts from all over the plaza, having a complete knowledge of where items may be in the store for customer assistance and returns, covering co-workers breaks, and keeping the store clean. I either man a register or handle the various duties around the front end to make sure that customers and my co-workers can handle their obligations in a timely manner. Typical day at work involves putting on the uniform, punching in and starting the shift.
At the same time without my coworkers, I wouldn't be the worker I am today. I loved the work and how easy it was to pick up on. We all had such a welcoming environment and I just felt at home while working there. The best part about my job was my fellow coworkers as well as the environment of the store overall. I always was but on busy days trying to keep up and trying smiling through the rude comments tended to be difficult. Not everyone is understanding and polite but you must be. I think the hardest part of the job was busy days and having to keep your cool with certain customers. I learned to be patient and understanding to people I don't know as well as the ones I do. I learned a lot about customer service at Sobeys because on a daily basis I was dealing with different kinds of customers at once. Including the management, everyone is in it for your best interest and pushes you to be your best. I would go into work every day smiling knowing the people I was surrounded by. Working at Sobey's has been an amazing experience.
